Urban Color originated in April 2001 as a local gallery specializing in contemporary art. Centrally located in the Marina District, it soon became a favorite meeting spot for artists and art buyers.

Fast forward 10 years and Urban Color still relishes it's unique vibe. Located in the Inner Richmond, we now accomodate the boutique and an art studio on the second floor. Join us for extreme craftiness and super fun art parties.

Kendra Hiett Lock, Owner of Urban Color has been a lifelong advocate for the arts. She continues to teach classes, facilitates workshops for artists, and produces several special events each year. Kendra opened her first community gallery and art center in Visalia, California at 24! Kendra loves all things handmade, hand-painted and hand-crafted.

Johnston Lock is a man of few words. He's Kendra's loving, patient husband and Chloe and Gigi's hip daddy.
